Bible Reading: Colossians 3:12-17 & Luke 2:41-52
Dear Friends
New beginnings, fresh starts, reaffirmations of love, promises for a brighter future all come to mind as we ring in a New Year. 2018 might have been exciting with wonderful memories yet challenging to some. There are the superficial, yet purposeful promises we make to ourselves. Then there are the heartfelt promises we make to others, whether aloud or in our minds.
We want to care more, express love more, reverse bad feelings in old relationships or seek out new loving relationships. We try our best to put these desires to words and actions.
Though New Years can be a time of celebration and cheer, there are many people who are facing difficult circumstances. They may be entering this time of year with apprehension or anxiety. If that’s the case for anyone you know be it a family member, friend please reach out and be an encouragement. It is always good for people who are facing challenges to know that they are not alone in their travails and struggles. Those who are experiencing favourable circumstances we wish them continued success.
I am sending to all of us well wishes for 2019, happiness, health and prosperity. May we continue to be committed to the ways of Jesus. A wise member of our congregation always reminds me that people are born with potentials to opportunities. We all have opportunities to contribute meaningfully wherever we are.
Blessed 2019 to you all.
